Ken Notary, husband of Janey Notary, both class of 1969, died suddenly on Oct. 6 of a heart attack at the age of 59 while doing consulting work in TX for Air Products and Chemicals, the company from which he had retired in June after a 34 year career. Ken was Director of Primary Energy and Energy Economics. He served on the Natural Gas Advisory Board for the New York Mercantile Exchange and on multiple energy related professional organizations. He received his B.S. in mechanical engineering and an M.S.in Industrial Administration from Carnegie Mellon where he was first in his class. He was awarded a Winston Churchill Foundation Scholarship to study at Cambridge University in England where he spent a year analyzing world and U.S. energy trends. Ken was active in his community where he served on several boards and in his church where he served as an elder and bible study leader.. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his father, Joseph Notary, his sister, Sharon Notary, class of 1967, his brother Alan, class of 1971 and his three sons, Matthew, Michael and Jonathan. He is also survived by three grandchildren, Josiah, Seth and Savannah. He was a much beloved husband, father, grandfather, son, brother and friend with a ready smile and a servant heart.
